A reminder on a few upcoming events:
1. Thursday, May 24th, 6-7 pm: Open House and swimsuit fitting at GAFC.  Take note — the date for this was wrongly listed as Tuesday May 22nd in one place.  Board members will be there with sample suits for the swimmers to try on, take suit orders, and answer questions.  Coaches will be there to perform swim tests for new swimmers.
2. Tuesday, May 29th: Practice begins.  The times are different age groups are listed at http://www.greenbeltswimteam.com/schedules/practice-schedules/
3. Thursday, May 31st, 5-5:30 pm: Parent meeting. This will be held in the classrom at GAFC (the room next to the vending machine room).  An introduction to the summer season and orientation for parents are on the agenda.

IMPORTANT:
Residency and GAFC Membership
If you are NOT A GREENBELT RESIDENT, please make sure to obtain your GAFC membership at the pool before attempting to register your child. You will need to input your GAFC membership number when you register.  Failing to do this may void your registration!

*Greenbelt residents are those who live within the corporate limits of Greenbelt, pay City taxes and are entitled to vote in City elections. Residents of Greenbelt Road and 6999-7699 Hanover Parkway are not considered Greenbelt residents.
Swim Caps
You can purchase swim caps online when you register. If you are ordering personalized swim caps, please know that the cost is $26 for TWO swim caps with imprinted last names per swimmer, or $21 for TWO swim caps without names.  We are offering silicone caps rather than latex, since the former were the preference in the survey earlier this year.  Silicone is more expensive than latex but also more durable and less prone to tearing.

If you are ready to do so, please go to the Registration menu on the GMST website (link below) to register your child(ren).
Here are some tips for using the registration system:
(1) If you are a returning family, make sure to choose the option to “sign in using your email address” which will direct you to your portal page. All your information should already be there, and you can update it at this point to reflect any changes. **This is important so that we don’t have duplicates and risk voiding your registration altogether!**
(2) If you have multiple children to register, you will go through the registration process for one child, then when you are at the REVIEW CART & CHECK OUT screen, you will see a blue link to “+ ADD ANOTHER REGISTRATION”. **This is very important if you want to get the sibling discount!** The sibling discount will be applied at checkout. Again, if you are a returning family, all your children’s information should already be in there unless you are adding a new swimmer (which is a perfectly acceptable thing to do – yay, the more Barracudas the merrier!)
(3) I believe you have 15 minutes to complete the registration otherwise you will be timed out; don’t start registering and then walk off to do something else.

Some people have had luck registering via their mobile devices, but I urge you to use a laptop or desktop computer to avoid any potential headaches (no working yourself up into a huff – consider yourself warned!).

Please email any issues or concerns to the GMST Registrar at greenbeltswim@gmail.com.
